Final Project

Summary

In the spring semester of 2021, I enrolled in an interdisciplinary class tasked to reimagine James Madison University (JMU) in the future. My assigned team and I reimagined experiential learning at JMU ten years in the future. Since we all lived in different places during the pandemic, we communicated through text, zoom, and Microsoft teams. In the beginning, we brainstormed ideas through a mind map. Then, we interviewed experts in different academic fields and organizations. We conducted our interviews in pairs, with one person asking questions and another person writing notes. We recorded our findings in shared Excel and Word documents. Afterward, we developed different scenarios, collaborating in Miro and Microsoft Word. We presented our scenarios to class guest Bray Alexander and our professors. Then, we picked our favorite scenario and expanded on it by researching relevant articles to support our “future.” We uploaded our information to WordPress. Lastly, we present our scenario to JMU’s Academic Board. Our presentation was a success; the Board was intrigued by our scenario and asked us follow-up questions.
