Summary

For my independent studies class, web design professor presented me with the task to create a WordPress website on any subject I wanted. I decided to learn more about user experience and content design since I’m interested in those fields. I selected books from the A Book Apart Series (Cross-Culture Design, Design for Cognitive Bias, Design for Emotion, The Elements of Content Strategy). I highlighted and wrote notes on Microsoft One Note. After reading all the books, I wrote a few paragraphs on five takeaways from each book. Then, I switched over to designing my website. I found a Divi template and modified the template through Divi’s visual builder. I chose a black, purple, and white color scheme. I rescaled and recolored my images in Adobe Photoshop. Also, I chose icons from Divi’s library. Although my written content turned out satisfactorily, I would like to add more content. Also, I would change the domain name. My website is morganux.speakingage.com. The speakingage.com is my professor’s domain because at the time I didn’t have my own domain.
